Fine Dining At Its Best – Over 100 Restaurants to Choose From
Park City Has Some of the Finest Restaurants in the Intermountain West. Select From Over 100 Menus Serving Asian, Mexican/Southwestern, French, Italian, European Continental, & American Specialties.
Fireside Dining at Empire Lodge – Regarding other restaurants to recommend that are family friendly, I know many of our guests really enjoy a dinner at the Empire Lodge in Upper Deer Valley, this is also a fondue type dinner cooked and served from the various fireplaces at the ski lodge in the evening.
Take a Sleigh Ride to the Lodge – You can also take a sleigh ride to the dinner or drive up. It is a lodge you will become familiar with while skiing, it is the nicest lodge on the slopes of Deer Valley for eating and relaxing during the ski day and has a gorgeous setting very close to the Montage.
Dining On Main Street – An evening dinner on Main Street would be nice, there is such energy there and it will be beautiful with the holiday lights and people strolling around. For a casual night with western food and a kid friendly environment, you could eat at Bandits which is half way up the hill on Main Street, a few doors up the hill from the Post Office on the same side of the street. It’s a great family restaurant & may be just what you are looking for!
Another restaurant on Main Street that is reasonable, casual and family friendly is the Wasatch Brew Pub on the upper end of Main Street, same side of the road as Bandits and the Post Office. This again would have to meet your menu expectations, but they are popular and dependable and a lot of our guests enjoy the place.
Chimayo’s – A more upscale restaurant with a menu you and your kids would either love or hate. It’s one of the more expensive options but on Main Street and popular – again because of the look of the restaurant and the menu. I have had mixed service at this restaurant, but have clients that swear by it and it is run by one of the best operations in town.
The River Horse – I think this is one of the best restaurants on Main Street for service and dining so I’ll have to add that into the mix. Here is the menu, they are always spot on with service & quality of food and have musical entertainment nightly, so it is a great experience.
Dining & More at Kimball Junction – If you’re willing to venture a little further from Main Street, the Kimball Junction area offers great choices. A more casual dining place is the Red Rock Grill (great place to eat if you are going to the movies one night, as the theaters are right across the street) We also like Ghidotti’s in Kimball Junction, a more upscale restaurant but nice Italian dining that is family friendly.
Bowling After Dinner – One of the reasons that I mentioned restaurants in Kimball Junction is that you may want to combine an evening with a dinner & either the movies or a night at Jupiter Bowl. This is a great new bowling alley that has just opened and is extremely popular, so depending on your interests may be a fun night out.
Try Tubing – For other activities to consider, there is always tubing at either the Kimball Junction area at Gorgoza Park or Soldier Hollow in Midwaywhich is our favorite spot for tubing and it would get you out of Park City to see some of the wonderful mountain ranges of the Uintas. It is about a 20 minute drive from Park City to the Heber Valley.
Park City Mountain has a number of things that are fun to do, they are leaving their alpine coaster open for the winter and they have a village there with an outdoor ice skating rink, it might be fun to go over there some late afternoon or evening. If your kids love to skate, the Park City Ice Arena is fantastic!. It’s only about two miles from Park City & has open skating, drop in ice hockey for all ages, etc – you may even catch a glimpse of Olympic athletes in training there as most of the short track speed skaters now train at this facility.
Royal Street Café – Great for Lunch After a Ride to the Top of Bald Mountain. This is a casual upscale dining experience that is dependably good. It’s a great place to take guests after a scenic ride on the Sterling lift to the top of Bald Mountain where the views of Heber Valley & the Jordanelle Reservoir are awesome. Try dining on the front deck where you can enjoy the beautiful scenery & watch the hikers & bikers on the mountain trails. Although you can drive there, I recommend taking the Silver Lake Express lift from the Snow Park Lodge at the base of Deer Valley.
Wahso Asian Grill – A Local Favorite of mine and one of the Top Restaurants in Park City. If you want lots of atmosphere, ask for a booth. They are quiet & lovely. Check out the menu in either the Mountain Express or the Menu Guide. FYI, you may find a 2 for 1 coupon in the Park City Record. This allows you to have 2 entrees for the price of one. Look for a Friday night special called Feng Shui where a few of the entrees are $10 & the salads/appetizers are $5. It’s an excellent choice.
Riverhorse Restaurant – Another Great Restaurant, and Again a Local Favorite & Highly Recommended. They also have a great menu & a wonderful atmosphere. Look for their $25 coupon in the local paper for 2 entrees. Bandits on Main Street – A Great Place For Kids. They have an extensive menu at affordable prices. It’s fun to eat there since you’re right on Main Street and can stroll the shops before or after.
Other Restaurant Reviews
Buona Vita Ristorante Italiano, 804 Main Street, Park City
The other place we had not tried was Buona Vita. This was our best restaurant until Silver. Quite different of course with an atmosphere of a small Italian trattoria. Plain wood tables with a semi-open kitchen and traditional Italian menu. Our waiter, Redman, was fun and helpful. Service was prompt and appropriate and the price was reasonable but not cheap. I am particularly fond of ravioli and theirs was excellent. Place is not very big so having a reservation on a busy night would be helpful but tables tend to turn quickly. None of us had one of their individual pizzas but they are proud of their oven and pizza ability. M. Kremzar, Cincinnati, OH, 3/27/2012
Silver Restaurant, 508 Main Street, Park City
We thought that Silver was outstanding with creativity that worked, a friendly staff, and excellent service. Worth noting that the pricing was quite reasonable if you are careful. Entrees are typically in the $20-25 range with notable exceptions. However, everything is ala carte so cost can build. Appetizers were so good we almost canceled our entree orders to get more. A side dish, fried brussel sprouts with pomegranates is not to be missed. Big negative was the noise level with a combination of a noisy dining room sandwiched between basically two loud bars. We will go back but probably not with the younger kids. M. Kremzar, Cincinnati, OH, 3/29/2012
Red Rock Brewing Company, 1640 West Redstone Center, Kimball Junction
Family friendly, Reasonable prices, Courteous service, Crowded but not busy meaning slow turnover times. Food’s okay but definitely not worth the wait. Wait staff stretched thin. Atmosphere noisy & cavernous, Halibut dry & overcooked. Alphadoug, Park City, UT, 06/14/2012
